Themenbeschreibung:
Dies ist die dritte von insgesamt vier Tagungen zu Desiderata der Neukantianismus-Forschung, die in Zusammenarbeit zwischen Christian Krijnen, Tomasz Kubalica, Andrzej J. Noras, Marc de Launay, Kurt Walter Zeidler, Massimo Ferrari und Pierfranscesco Fiorato in den Jahren 2011 bis 2013 in Ustroń, Paris, Wien und Turin stattgefunden haben bzw. noch geplant sind.

Die Tagung Wissenschaftsphilosophie im Neukantianismus nimmt sich eines Kernthemas des neukantianischen Philosophierens an, für das der Neukantianismus von seinen Anfängen bis heute ebenso sehr gerühmt wie gescholten wird. Die Philosophie der Wissenschaften hat, ausgehend von der Kantrezeption und der Abgrenzung vom spekulativen Idealismus sowie vom zeitgenössischen Empirismus und Materialismus bis hin zur systematischen Auseinandersetzung mit der logizistischen und empiristischen Wissenschaftstheorie im 20. Jahrhundert, das Profil und Selbstverständnis des Neukantianismus maßgeblich geprägt. Die Orientierung am ‚Faktum der Wissenschaft‘ hat nicht nur die Marburger Schule und ihr spezifisches Verständnis der ‚transzendentalen Methode‘ als Grundlegung der exakten Wissenschaften (Mathematik und Physik), sondern das Selbstverständnis aller Richtungen des Neukantianismus bestimmt: sie diente entscheidend der akademischen Profilierung des Neukantianismus als ‚wissenschaftliche Philosophie‘, da sie erlaubte, alle anderen Wissenschaften – und in weiterer Folge auch alle sonstigen ‚Fakta‘ der Kultur – als genuine Themen der Philosophie zu reklamieren.

Dieser Aufruf richtet sich an Studierende der Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften, die Interesse an russischer und deutscher Philosophie haben, vor allem aber am kommunikativen wissenschaftlichen Austausch!
Die Konferenz wird unter der Schirmherrschaft von Prof. Dr. Volker Gerhardt von einer Gruppe Promovierender an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin organisiert. Mit der Konferenz möchten wir einen Raum bieten, die Theoriebildungen rund um den Dialog in der russischen und deutschen Tradition nachzuvollziehen, zu problematisieren und – vor allem – zu diskutieren. Auf welche Weise wird der Dialog als Thema behandelt? Welche Dialoge entfalteten sich zwischen den beiden Kulturkreisen? Welche Rolle spielen das jeweilige Wissenschaftsverständnis und die literarische Form der Philosophie?

CFP: Hermann Cohen and the Visual Arts

Meeting of the Hermann Cohen Society in cooperation with the Max Liebermann Society (Berlin) and the Cohen Society (Coswig)

from the 15th to the 18th of June 2008 in Coswig (Anhalt)

The focus of the conference is Hermann Cohen’s relationship to the visual arts. Systematic interpretations of Cohen’s aesthetics are welcome, not least those that deal with the consequences of Cohen’s theory for contemporary debates. In addition, we welcome biographical or historical studies that put Cohen in the context of the aesthetic and artistic movements of his time.

Contributions in English and German are welcome. Scholars interested in submitting a paper are warmly invited to send a title and a short abstract of up to 300 words to the following address:
